Shylo Country Club for Dogs is a professional dog boarding kennel facility located east of Denver in Watkins, Colorado. Situated in the middle of a few hundred acres of slightly rolling grassland, the kennel is the perfect place for your pet to relax on one of our sun decks, frolic in our play yards, or just enjoy Colorado’s fresh air. And during the Summer months, we have a pristine pool for your pet to cool off.

Established over 40 years ago, Shylo Kennels is one of the top show kennels in the country. Our management team has over 100 years of experience in caring for dogs. This is important because experience matters.
In recent years there have been a number of new kennels and doggy day care businesses that have sprouted up in the Denver area and have no more background than having owned a dog. While simply owning a dog is quite a learning experience, it’s not the same as the level of experience we’ve gained over the years on a professional level.

Having bred over 120 American Champion Afghan Hounds since the 70s, Shylo Kennels is one of the top winning Afghan Show Kennels in the country. In the last few years, Shylo has also been one of the top winning Greyhound Show Kennels in the country, having bred 2 National Specialty winners. We also have shown champion Whippets, Welsh Corgis, Shelties, and Bedlington Terriers.
Bruce, Shylo’s Owner, was an AKC licensed handler in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and now exclusively shows Shylo Show Dogs around the country. Steve is also an AKC Dog Show Judge approved to judge Afghan Hounds and Greyhounds. He’s judged dog shows in Australia, Italy, Sweden, and most recently the Afghan Hound Club of America National Specialty Show.
